It is a statistical fact that 75% of a student's day in school is listening. (Drake Institute)
If the child has an auditory processing disorder, they are missing, mishearing or mis-interpreting what is being said.
Sometimes these children are criticised for not following instructions, or not contributing, or being 'vacant'.
Sometimes their lack of participation is not noticed, and the child moves through years in the school system without learning much.
Sometimes students are not able to pay attention because of emotional disturbances at home.
This is where it would be beneficial to have a facilitator trained in the Marbles programme available at your school. In order to offer comfort and support to the students, and staff, as needed.
The facilitator would be able to gently guide emotional healing, and to take responsibility for early intervention, and referrals to other agencies.
Talk it over with your staff, and make a booking for training in this important area. |

As a teacher, you tend to be the most important person in the student's life, outside the family.
It will be apparent to you when a student appears to be lacking sleep, lacking lunch and lacking clean clothes.
These signal that things may not be going well at home, and need to be acted upon, for the sake of the child.
Referral made to the local Family Building Centre will insure that the conditions at home will start improving.
After years of staff room discussions about students, and wishing there was a way to help the family situation... your prayers have been answered! |

A common complaint of teachers over the past few decades has been about the lack of respect that some students flaunt.
Bullying is another problem that teachers need to face.
Aggression that can lead to violence is a constant threat to other students and to staff.
How many times have you wished that a student could just learn to channel energy in positive directions, and become self disciplined, so that they could succeed?
The No-Excuses Corrective Training programme delivers a clear-cut process, that has proven very effective in turning around the lives of some of our nation's most irritating offenders.
Talk to your staff about enrolling in the Facilitators Training scheduled from November 2006 through April 2007.
Three days' training, on-going support, and a comprehensive training manual will be of great assistance to you and your school.
You can book on line today on our Calendar page.
