Transport

The adventure begins by just getting to Tira Ora Lodge.

There are two transport options to get you from Wellington to Tira Ora Lodge.

OPTION 1
(recommended)

From Wellington, you take a ferry ride across the Cook straight, from the
North Island to the South Island (3 and a half hours). The ferry arrives in Picton.

A bus will be waiting in Picton to transport you to Havelock - a 1 hour drive.

 

From Havelock, you take a 1 hour scenic boat ride through the Pelorus Sound
until you reach Tira Ora Lodge.
Watch out for seals and dolphins on the way!

A tepee, 6 metres in height, is an adventurous accomodation option.
The tepee is located 10 minutes walk into the bush and has priceless
scenery views of the ocean.

OPTION 2

From the Wellington airport, you take a 30 minute scenic flight on a
6-seater aeroplane. You land on Tira Ora Lodge's very own
private air strip.

Whichever option you decide to take, we will make the arrangements
on your behalf, so that you can relax and enjoy the adventure!
